Configuring Windows for Remote Inventory ---------------------------------------- I. On computers in the RP domain located on our LAN, nothing additional needs to be configured. Information is collected automatically each time you log in. II. For other computers located on our local network: 1. Add/check that you have our file server registered in your host file. In the file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts there should be a line: 10.0.0.140 fs 2. Add/check that in the Credential Manager in the Windows Credentials section there is a valid entry for our FS file storage. As a result, you should be allowed on FS without any questions. Comment. Every time you change your password in the RP domain, you need to update it in Credential Manager! 3. You need to add the TNI_Scan.cmd script to startup, located in the folder \\fs\public\TNI_Bin\TNI_Scan.cmd It is recommended to put it in the folder "%UserProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\" copy \\fs\public\TNI_Bin\TNI_Scan.cmd %temp% move /Y %temp%\TNI_Scan.cmd "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\" 4. On other computers running Windows OS, you need to install the TNI agent: 1. Create a folder C:\TNI\ 2. Open the link https://prism.akvelon.net:8441/inventory/ 3. Download the following files to the C:\TNI\ folder: tniwinagent.exe, tniwinagent.ini and tniwinagent_install.cmd 4. Unblock executable files: tniwinagent.exe and tniwinagent_install.cmd Right-click on the file -> Properties -> Unblock checkbox on the General tab -> click OK. 5. Run the tniwinagent_install.cmd script as Administrator 6. Check that the “Total Network Inventory 3 Resident Agent” service has appeared in Services, it is running and configured to start automatically. 7. After a couple of minutes, we check that the Sent subfolder has appeared in the C:\TNI folder and it contains the file %Hostname%_%MacAddress%_%Date%%Time%.inv 8. Send a letter with your local IP address to bdc.it@akvelon.com system administrators to confirm its successful operation. In case of problems, send the file C:\TNI\tniwinagent.log
